Europos socialinio fondo veikla

Europos socialinis fondas (European Science Foundation, ESF) – įtakinga akademinė patariamoji ir finansavimo institucija. Pagrindinis Europos socialinio fondo tikslas – skatinti aukšto lygio mokslo vystimąsi Europoje. Europos mokslo fondas turi penkis nuolatinius mokslinius komitetus, kuriuos sudaro organizacijų-narių nominuoti iškilūs mokslininkai. Nuolatiniai komitetai nustato mokslinius organizacijos prioritetus, formuoja strategijas, kuria mokslinių tyrimų darbotvarkes ir vykdo mokslinę ekspertizę. Biomedicinos mokslams atstovauja Europos medicininių tyrimų taryba. Tarybos nuolatinė narė prof. Zita Aušrelė Kučinskienė remia Europos mokslo fondo leidinių komplektavimą Medicinos fakulteto bibliotekoje.
